Job - king james
Chapter 8
1 Then answered Bildad the Shuhite, and said,
2 How long wilt thou speak these things? and how long shall the words of thy mouth be like a strong wind?
3 Doth God pervert judgment? or doth the Almighty pervert justice?
4 If thy children have sinned against him, and he have cast them away for their transgression;
5 If thou wouldest seek unto God betimes, and make thy supplication to the Almighty;
6 If thou wert pure and upright; surely now he would awake for thee, and make the habitation of thy righteousness prosperous.
7 Though thy beginning was small, yet thy latter end should greatly increase.
8 For inquire, I pray thee, of the former age, and prepare thyself to the search of their fathers:
9 (For we are but of yesterday, and know nothing, because our days upon earth are a shadow:)
10 Shall not they teach thee, and tell thee, and utter words out of their heart?
11 Can the rush grow up without mire? can the flag grow without water?
12 Whilst it is yet in his greenness, and not cut down, it withereth before any other herb.
13 So are the paths of all that forget God; and the hypocrite's hope shall perish:
14 Whose hope shall be cut off, and whose trust shall be a spider's web.
15 He shall lean upon his house, but it shall not stand: he shall hold it fast, but it shall not endure.
16 He is green before the sun, and his branch shooteth forth in his garden.
17 His roots are wrapped about the heap, and seeth the place of stones.
18 If he destroy him from his place, then it shall deny him, saying, I have not seen thee.
19 Behold, this is the joy of his way, and out of the earth shall others grow.
20 Behold, God will not cast away a perfect man, neither will he help the evil doers:
21 Till he fill thy mouth with laughing, and thy lips with rejoicing.
22 They that hate thee shall be clothed with shame; and the dwelling place of the wicked shall come to nought.

Chapter 8
1 The Baldad the Suhite answered, and said:
2 How long wilt thou speak these things, and how long shall the words of thy mouth be like a strong wind?
3 Doth God pervert judgment, or doth the Almighty overthrow that which is just?
4 Although thy children have sinned against him, and he hath left them in the hand of their iniquity:
5 Yet if thou wilt arise early to God, and wilt beseech the Almighty:
6 If thou wilt walk clean and upright, he will presently awake onto thee, and will make the dwelling of thy justice peaceable:
7 Insomuch, that if thy former things were small, thy latter things would be multiplied exceedingly.
8 For inquire of the former generation, and search diligently into the memory of the fathers:
9 (For we are but of yesterday, and are ignorant that our days upon earth are but a shadow:)
10 And they shall teach thee: they shall speak to thee, and utter words out of their hearts.
11 Can the rush be green without moisture? or a sedge-bush grow without water?
12 When it is yet in flower, and is not plucked up with the hand, it withereth before all herbs.
13 Even so are the ways of all that forget God, and the hope of the hypocrite shall perish:
14 His folly shall not please him, and his trust shall be like the spider's web.
15 He shall lean upon his house, and it shall not stand: he shall prop it up, and it shall not rise:
16 He seemeth to have moisture before the sun cometh, and at his rising his blossom shall shoot forth.
17 His roots shall be thick upon a heap of stones, and among the stones he shall abide.
18 If one swallow him up out of his place, he shall deny him, and shall say: I know thee not.
19 For this is the joy of his way, that others may spring again out of the earth.
20 God will not cast away the simple, nor reach out his hand to the evildoer:
21 Until thy mouth be filled with laughter, and thy lips with rejoicing.
22 They that hate thee, shall be clothed with confusion: and the dwelling of the wicked shall not stand.

Chapter 8
1 Bildad the Shuhite answered,
2 long will you speak these things? Shall the words of your mouth be a mighty wind?
3 God pervert justice? Or does the Almighty pervert righteousness?
4 your children have sinned against him, He has delivered them into the hand of their disobedience.
5 you want to seek God diligently, make your supplication to the Almighty.
6 you were pure and upright, surely now he would awaken for you, and make the habitation of your righteousness prosperous.
7 your beginning was small, yet your latter end would greatly increase.
8 inquire of past generations. Find out about the learning of their fathers.
9 we are but of yesterday, and know nothing, because our days on earth are a shadow.)
10 they not teach you, tell you, and utter words out of their heart?
11 the papyrus grow up without mire? Can the rushes grow without water?
12 it is yet in its greenness, not cut down, it withers before any other reed.
13 are the paths of all who forget God. The hope of the godless man shall perish,
14 confidence shall break apart, Whose trust is a spider's web.
15 shall lean on his house, but it shall not stand. He shall cling to it, but it shall not endure.
16 is green before the sun. His shoots go forth over his garden.
17 roots are wrapped around the rock pile. He sees the place of stones.
18 he is destroyed from his place, then it shall deny him, saying, 'I have not seen you.'
19 this is the joy of his way: out of the earth, others shall spring.
20 God will not cast away a blameless man, neither will he uphold the evildoers.
21 will still fill your mouth with laughter, your lips with shouting.
22 who hate you shall be clothed with shame. The tent of the wicked shall be no more."

1 And Bildad the Shuhite answered and said,
2 How long wilt thou speak these things? and the words of thy mouth be a strong wind?
3 Doth ùGod pervert judgment, and the Almighty pervert justice?
4 If thy children have sinned against him, he hath also given them over into the hand of their transgression.
5 If thou seek earnestly unto ùGod, and make thy supplication to the Almighty,
6 If thou be pure and upright, surely now he will awake for thee, and make the habitation of thy righteousness prosperous;
7 And though thy beginning was small, yet thine end shall be very great.

9 For we are [but] of yesterday, and know nothing, for our days upon earth are a shadow.
10 Shall not they teach thee, [and] tell thee, and utter words out of their heart?
11 Doth the papyrus shoot up without mire? doth the reed-grass grow without water?
12 Whilst it is yet in its greenness [and] not cut down, it withereth before any [other] grass.
13 So are the paths of all that forget ùGod; and the profane man's hope shall perish,
14 Whose confidence shall be cut off, and his reliance is a spider's web.
15 He shall lean upon his house, and it shall not stand; he shall lay hold on it, but it shall not endure.
16 He is full of sap before the sun, and his sprout shooteth forth over his garden;
17 His roots are entwined about the stoneheap; he seeth the place of stones.
18 If he destroy him from his place, then it shall deny him: I have not seen thee!
19 Behold, this is the joy of his way, and out of the dust shall others grow.
20 Behold, ùGod will not cast off a perfect man, neither will he take evil-doers by the hand.

Chapter 8
1 Then Bildad the Shuhite made answer and said,
2 How long will you say these things, and how long will the words of your mouth be like a strong wind?
3 Does God give wrong decisions? or is the Ruler of all not upright in his judging?
4 If your children have done evil against him, then their punishment is from his hand.
5 If you will make search for God with care, and put your request before the Ruler of all;
6 If you are clean and upright; then he will certainly be moved to take up your cause, and will make clear your righteousness by building up your house again.
7 And though your start was small, your end will be very great.
8 Put the question now to the past generations, and give attention to what has been searched out by their fathers:
9 (For we are but of yesterday, and have no knowledge, because our days on earth are gone like a shade:)
10 Will they not give you teaching, and say words of wisdom to you?
11 Will the river-plant come up in its pride without wet earth? will the grass get tall without water?
12 When it is still green, without being cut down, it becomes dry and dead before any other plant.
13 So is the end of all who do not keep God in mind; and the hope of the evil-doer comes to nothing:
14 Whose support is cut off, and whose hope is no stronger than a spider's thread.
15 He is looking to his family for support, but it is not there; he puts his hope in it, but it comes to nothing.
16 He is full of strength before the sun, and his branches go out over his garden.
17 His roots are twisted round the stones, forcing their way in between them.
18 If he is taken away from his place, then it will say, I have not seen you.
19 Such is the joy of his way, and out of the dust another comes up to take his place.
20 Truly, God will not give up him who is without sin, and will not take evil-doers by the hand.
21 The time will come when your mouth will be full of laughing, and cries of joy will come from your lips.
22 Your haters will be clothed with shame, and the tent of the sinner will not be seen again.
